Drivers

Safety first. Privacy not negotiable. No obligation.

If you drive for a living, the question worth asking is what you get out of participating and what you give up. Here is our honest answer.

For drivers

What participation would involve.

Three things, and no small print.

Set up while stationary

Mounting and configuration happen before you drive. Nothing is set up mid-journey, and the system is not something you handle at the wheel.

You know when it is capturing

Capture is not silent by default. If recording is active you can see it, and it stops where the law or your own consent setting says it stops.

You are never obliged to take part

Participation in any pilot is voluntary, you can withdraw, and you are not paid or rewarded for capturing more events.

Safety comes before contribution.

It would be easy to sell this as a community effort where drivers earn something for sharing footage. We are not doing that, because the moment contributions are rewarded, the incentive becomes capturing more — not driving better.

Our position is that the safety benefit has to hold up even if nobody is ever rewarded for anything.

  • Never a reason to drive differently, or to drive more
  • No payment or reward for the volume of footage
  • Contribution is optional and can be withdrawn
  • Your own footage is not used for enforcement against you
  • Privacy filtering applied before anything is shared

Any reward or recognition scheme would have to be designed so that it cannot buy more footage. We are not there yet, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
