A clearer picture of what's happening on our roads.
Road conditions and risky incidents are difficult to observe consistently. RoadSignal is exploring a privacy-conscious way to capture relevant observations and help authorised teams assess them.
We're developing technology that helps turn everyday vehicle journeys into trusted road safety intelligence — through secure capture, AI-assisted review and responsible reporting.
In development in Australia. No government enforcement approval or rewards programme is implied.

Three stages, in order. Each one exists to keep a person in the loop rather than to automate a decision.
Record relevant observations using a properly mounted device.
Combine metadata, automated screening and human review to assess evidence quality.
Route appropriate reports through authorised workflows where available.
Six areas of work, each at a different stage. None of them is a certified or approved capability today.
Recording is designed to happen passively, from a properly mounted device, with the driver setting up before departure rather than interacting on the move.
Automated screening proposes which observations may be relevant. It is designed to flag uncertainty rather than assert that an offence occurred.
Proposed checks on timestamp, location and file integrity, so that what reaches review is traceable and its limits are stated.
Privacy filtering, configurable retention and deletion windows are being designed in from the start rather than added after a pilot.
A person assesses quality and context before anything is shared. No report is designed to be issued automatically.
A proposed fleet view of recurring events and road conditions, intended for coaching and incident workflows rather than surveillance of individual drivers.
The questions differ by audience: government needs evidence standards, fleets need visibility, drivers need to know this won't change how they drive.
Coverage insight, evidence quality controls and governance, for stakeholders who would need to sign off on any enforcement use.
Consistent event capture and safety analytics for managers who need visibility, coaching workflows and clean incident timelines.
Passive participation for motorists who want safer roads without changing how they drive or handling a device on the move.

RoadSignal is a venture concept, not a launched product. These answers separate what is being designed from what exists today.
Not yet. RoadSignal is in development in Australia and there is no public app or device to sign up for. The early access register is how we'll contact people when testing opens.
No. RoadSignal holds no government approval, certification or agency endorsement, and we don't imply one. Any enforcement use would depend on legislation, technical standards, agency agreements, procedural safeguards and formal approval.
No. RoadSignal does not issue infringements and nothing in the platform is designed to do so automatically. We're exploring fleet safety and road condition intelligence first.
We can't promise that. Contributor incentives are an area under evaluation and would need independent legal and government validation. Anything linked to fine revenue is speculative, so we don't present it as a feature.
The concept is passive capture from a properly mounted device, not continuous monitoring of a driver. Retention windows, privacy filtering and deletion are designed to be configurable for whoever runs a pilot, and are agreed per pilot rather than applied by default.
Names, contact details and device metadata are the minimum we would hold, and footage is the area we treat most carefully. Our privacy notice sets out what this site collects, how it is held and how to have it deleted. No footage upload runs on this site.
