About

We are building this in the open, because it has to be checked.

RoadSignal is an early-stage concept for a road safety evidence network. It is not a product you can buy, and it is not endorsed by anyone.

About RoadSignal

RoadSignal began with a simple observation: most road incidents are witnessed, and almost none of what is witnessed survives as usable evidence. A dashcam clip might exist somewhere, but it rarely travels with the context that would make it count.

The idea is not more cameras. It is a documented path from a captured event to a verified, privacy-filtered, authorised record, with the uncertainty kept visible at every step along the way.

We are at the stage where the design deserves scrutiny more than it deserves promotion. That is why this site says proposed, in development and exploring partnerships rather than announcing a launch.

What we are asking for now is not customers. It is people who will test the thinking.

Our commitments

What we hold ourselves to.

Five commitments that shape what we will build, and more usefully, what we will not.

health_and_safety

Safety first

Road safety outcomes come before commercial ones. If a feature cannot be shown to improve safety, it does not ship.

fact_check

Evidence we can stand behind

Accuracy and failure modes validated by someone other than us, and reported honestly — including the cases where the system gets it wrong.

lock

Privacy by design

Data minimisation, retention limits and filtering are designed in from the start, not bolted on after a complaint.

volunteer_activism

Responsible participation

No incentive that rewards capturing more footage, and no reason for anyone to drive differently because of this system.

open_in_new

Open and interoperable

Standards-based formats and interfaces, so an agency is never locked into one vendor to read its own evidence.

Work with us

We would rather be corrected early than right late.

If you work in road safety, privacy, insurance, transport technology or enforcement, we want the critique, not the applause.
